Preface
This is a general beginner guide for playing in Foundry.
Your game may look slightly different from this guide. That is normal.
So if something looks different, don’t worry.
Foundry may look complex at first, but in practice it’s mostly just clicking the things you can already see on screen.
Most actions are simple:
You don’t need to learn everything now. Just start playing.

Understanding the Interface
When the game loads, you will see:
Inside the Sidebar, you will find tabs such as:
Opening Your Character Sheet
- On the right sidebar, click the Actors tab (person icon).
- Find your character.
- Click it.
Your Character Sheet opens. Inside you will see:

Rolling Dice (Main Interaction)
You usually do not type commands.
Instead:
Results appear in the Chat Log (right sidebar).
Moving Your Character
To move your token on the canvas:

Interacting with the Scene
Not everything is interactive, this depends on the game setup.
Using the Chat Log
On the right sidebar → Chat Log:

Combat Basics
When combat starts:

Foundry tracks turns automatically.
